Cheap cuts and slow cooking are very much in at the moment so try some of our lean, free range Ox Cheek. This rare cut of finely grained beef is superb in a stew or braised dish.
Ox cheek has traditionally been popular in ethnic and French cooking, but is just as at home in traditional British stews and casseroles.
Technically it is low-fat offal, so if you want a different healthy option that won’t break the bank, Ox Cheek is for you. Lending itself to our favourite term, this is a “slow cook meat”, it can be tough if not cooked correctly. Long-slow-cooking is fine by me because the resulting tender texture is beyond belief.
